PANDA Deformation Analysis
With the results of observations taken in two epochs, a deformation analysis
can be calculated, to determine the displacements of individual points.
For structural surveillance, a two-stage analysis can be performed, dividing the monitoring
net into Reference und Object points. Presuming that the reference points are in a stable
condition, the object points are tested for significant misclosures.
A global congruency test is the core of the analysis, finding significant misclosures
amongst the reference points. This test considers the complete cofactor matrices of both
epochs. If cofactor matrices are not available, or if only point accuracies have been
determined, then an aproximation analysis is possible.
Displaced points can be determined by either a backwards or a forwards method.
- When using the backwards method, displaced points will be
successively taken out of the group of reference points, until no further misclosure of the
remaining reference points can be found.
- The forward method begins with presumably stable reference
points and successively adds points to the group of reference points, until a significant misclosure
occurs!
